The BFF considers understanding, faith and compassion as the basic themes of our spiritual community, and moral precepts, generosity and mindfulness as the fundamental tools to realize the transforming effects of Great Compassion, symbolized as Amida Buddha.

We recognize our human imperfections and self-centeredness, and rely only on Other Power as our vehicle to spiritual liberation. Our faith rests on the living reality of Amida's Great Compassion in our lives, who, in beginningless time, has already accomplished our spiritual liberation through the power of her Vow.

We entrust ourselves to the Buddha's Teachings and say Amida's Sacred Name (nembutsu) in gratitude for her compassion for us. Empowered by the Primal Vow of Great Compassion, we seek to live full, compassionate and creative lives, and serve the welfare of all beings.

Our devotion lies strictly in our daily practice within the realm of our ordinary lives. Our spiritual journey takes us to the center of our being so that through grace we may live more fully and forgivingly from our hearts.

Our entrusting faith experience opens us to the mystery and beauty of life, which is considered the greatest gift; by learning about and deeply listening to the Sacredness within our hearts and in all things, we discover the unconditional love of Great Compassion and preciousness of all things.

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of a candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."
