The Five Precepts are the basic daily practice of all Buddhists, established by the Buddha 2,500 years ago. They are not rules or commandments but are guidelines for wholesome living that encourage us in the direction of peace, joy, liberation and awakening.

LIFE-CHANGING EMPOWERMENT

Through the working of Amida in our hearts, we become deeply aware of our human imperfections and the compassionate force or energy surrounding us.

As a result of this transforming awareness, we naturally seek to protect others and ourselves and make life more beautiful and worth living. We slowly become empowered to abstain from the unskillful and negative and cultivate the seeds of understanding and love.

"Do not look at the faults of others, or what others
have done or not done; observe what you yourself have
done and have not done."

Dhammapada 4:7
