On April 6th 2008, the Buddhist Faith
Fellowship celebrated the Flower Festival, known as Hana-matsuri in Japan. On this date, we celebrated the story and significance of
the historical Buddha’s birth over 2,600 years ago. This religious event included washing of the baby Buddha ceremony.
Congregants brought flower(s) as an offering. There was an after party lunch at a nearby home.
Discussion topic was titled:
Born for a Purpose, Living Our Purpose. The
baby Siddhartha Gautama fulfilled his destiny by "waking up" at the age of 35; thus becoming the Buddha. How may
his life story give direction and meaning in our 21st century American lives?
this was the 7th year anniversary of the Buddhist Faith Fellowship.
The Suggested Flower Festival Practice:
Attend a Flower Festival Gathering
Have a vegetarian dinner with loved ones, family or friends.
