Make a Difference!
Integrate the Dharma with Environmentalism
Buddha Gaia
is an environmental advocacy group of concerned Buddhist and non-Buddhist individuals. We
believe that any effective 21st century spiritual practice must include an ecological perspective that is fully integrated
into our everyday lives.
We practice the Eightfold Path
for Sustainable Living, which is our principle vehicle to integrate the dharma and Mother Earth. We are an affiliated community
of the Buddhist Faith Fellowship of Connecticut, which is the flagship sangha of the
North American Shin Buddhist Association
(NASBA).
Buddha Gaia
Middletown Calendar
5/30. (Friday) Is Climate Change a Sham? We always look into climate change as one of our main issues. In the past we had
shown the Inconvenient Truth and The 11th
Hour videos and discussed the problems and solutions.
HOWEVER, in this next meeting, let's look into the other side. Just to be fair. Is this "global warming"
a sham? false science? really caused by human activity? a liberal conspiracy? What is the counter evidence? We have interesting
articles to look at and just maybe your ideas will change. After all , thoughts and ideas change like the weather.
If you are an online member or online admirer, what haven’t you NEVER attended a meeting. Why not?
What are you waiting for? The ice caps to melt? Try to come to our meetings. DON'T BE AFRAID! We don't bite!
The 11th Hour by Leonardo Dicaprio
Friday 4/25.Buddha Gaia will show the documentary "The 11th Hour" which is a feature length
documentary concerning the environmental crises caused by human actions and their impact on the planet. "The 11th Hour" documents
the cumulative impact of these actions upon the planet's life systems and calls for restorative action through a reshaping
of human activity. After the movie, there will be a discussion. If you liked Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth”
you will love this film; it goes to the next step beyond.

by passing innovative transportation and energy saving legislation.
